Seldom Seen is an exclusive High end Gift store and Gallery located on the unique Los Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale.
The store has been in operation for 16 years and was recently purchased by Harold and Maria Roseman and Harold’s sister Audrey.
One of the first decisions made was to replace the dated DOS Point of Sale system that had been in place many years. Harold has extensive experience in the Cruise industry as well as retail and he believed getting the right system was critical to success. After exhaustive research he was convinced that Microsoft Retail Management System was the correct choice and he chose Retail Management Systems Ltd to supply and install a complete solution for the store.
All inventory was imported from the old system and a complete roll out was accomplished in 3 days. The staff was excited and pleased to see how easy it was to use RMS with the large touch screens and the simplicity of working in a Windows environment. High Speed CC processing was integrated with RMS and cut processing time to 2 seconds from the previous 15-20 seconds.
Seldom Seen has a multi faceted operation involving special orders, shipping and Ecommerce and RMS is meeting the challenge in all these areas. A new state of the art Ecommerce site will be rolled out in January 07 and all indications are that this will be a substantial source of new sales. After only one week in operation with RMS the store operations are flowing smoothly and all involved are anticipating a great holiday business rush with the new system.
